Ich wohne in Prad am Stilfserjoch und bin 1984 geboren.
Schon als kleiner Junge nahm mich mein Vater mit in die Natur, in weit entlegene Täler, auf die höchsten Berge Südtirols, auf zu wilden Abenteuern. Er lehrte mich die Natur zu achten, zu lieben und zu respektieren.
Dort, wo wenige bis gar keine Menschen sind, fängt für mich Wildnis an. Diese Wildnis, unberührte Natur, hat es mir angetan. Ich suche ständig die Ruhe, die Einsamkeit und das Einswerden mit ihr und den Wildtieren.
Seit einigen Jahren hat mich die Naturfotografie gefesselt. Sie gibt mir die Möglichkeit die Natur, wie ich sie liebe und lebe festzuhalten.
Ich fotografiere sie so wie sie ist, ohne sie zu verfälschen. Das hat sie nicht nötig, denn sie ist perfekt. Die Natur ist für mich das grösste Kunstwerk, in all ihren Facetten, Farben und Formen.
Ich verbringe jede freie Minute in den Wäldern meiner Heimat, immer auf der Suche nach dem perfekten Bild. Es ist immer wieder aufs Neue eine Herausforderung die Tiere in ihrem Lebensraum abzulichten, denn die Tiere sind bei uns im Alpenraum sehr scheu, da sie gejagt werden. Ebenso sind naturbelassene Lebensräume und vom Menschen unberührte Natur eine Seltenheit. Umso wichtiger ist es für mich die Natur zu schützen. Ich sehe mich immer «zu Gast in der Wildnis». Das Bewusstsein, dass ich nur Gast bin in den Lebensräumen der Tiere und Pflanzen, ist mir wichtig und mein oberstes Ziel ist es die Tiere beim Fotografieren nicht zu stören. Allen Wildtieren und der Natur im Allgemeinen gilt mein grösster Respekt und der Naturfotografie meine Faszination.
Wie unterscheide ich mich von anderen Naturfotografen?
Ich denke in der Einstellung zum Erfolg. Für mich ist Erfolg, wenn ich der Natur mit meinem Verhalten nicht schade. Es geht mir nicht um die weltweit grösste Anerkennung, das Gewinnen von Fotowettbewerben. Der grösste Erfolg für mich ist es, wenn ein Tier, nachdem ich es stundenlang beobachtet und fotografiert habe, gar nicht gemerkt hat, dass ich in seiner Nähe war.
Hier auf meiner Seite sind nur einige wenige meiner Bilder zu sehen. Ich habe tausende von einzigartigen Aufnahmen, die ich sehr gerne interessierten Menschen zeige. Vivo a Prad allo Stelvio e sono nato nel 1984.
Fin da piccolo mio padre mi ha portato nella natura, in valli remote, sulle montagne più alte dell'Alto Adige e in avventure selvagge. Mi ha insegnato a onorare, amare e rispettare la natura.
Per me la natura selvaggia inizia dove ci sono persone. Questa natura selvaggia e incontaminata mi piace. Sono costantemente alla ricerca di pace, solitudine e di diventare tutt'uno con essa e con gli animali selvatici.
Da diversi anni sono affascinato dalla fotografia naturalistica. Mi dà l'opportunità di catturare la natura nelle mie foto così come la amo e la vivo. La fotografo così com'è, senza distorcerla. Non ne ha bisogno, perché è perfetta. La natura è per me la più grande opera d'arte, in tutte le sue sfaccettature, colori e forme.
Trascorro ogni minuto libero nelle foreste del mio paese, sempre alla ricerca dell'immagine perfetta. È sempre una nuova sfida fotografare gli animali nel loro habitat, poiché qui nelle Alpi sono molto timidi perché vengono cacciati. Anche gli habitat naturali e la natura non toccata dall'uomo sono una rarità. Per questo per me è ancora più importante proteggere la natura. Mi vedo sempre come un “ospite nella natura”. La consapevolezza di essere solo un ospite negli habitat di animali e piante è importante per me e il mio obiettivo primario è quello di non disturbare gli animali quando fotografo. Ho il massimo rispetto per tutti gli animali selvatici e per la natura in generale e sono affascinato dalla fotografia naturalistica.
In cosa mi differenzio dagli altri fotografi naturalisti?
Credo nel mio atteggiamento verso il successo. Per me il successo è quando non danneggio la natura con il mio comportamento. Non mi interessa il più grande riconoscimento del mondo, vincere i concorsi fotografici. Il successo più grande per me è quando un animale, dopo che l'ho osservato e fotografato per ore, non si è nemmeno accorto che gli ero vicino.

I live in Prad am Stilfserjoch and was born in 1984.
Even as a young boy, my father took me out into nature, into remote valleys, up the highest mountains in South Tyrol and on wild adventures. He taught me to honour, love and respect nature.
For me, wilderness begins where there are few to no people. This wilderness, unspoilt nature, has taken a liking to me. I am constantly looking for peace, solitude and to become one with it and the wild animals.
I have been fascinated by nature photography for several years now. It gives me the opportunity to capture nature as I love and live it. I photograph it as it is, without distorting it. It doesn't need that, because it is perfect. For me, nature is the greatest work of art, in all its facets, colours and forms.
I spend every free minute in the forests of my home country, always in search of the perfect picture. It is always a new challenge to photograph the animals in their habitat, as they are very shy here in the Alps because they are hunted. Natural habitats and nature untouched by humans are also a rarity. This makes it all the more important for me to protect nature. I always see myself as a ‘guest in the wilderness’. The awareness that I am only a guest in the habitats of animals and plants is important to me and my primary goal is not to disturb the animals when taking photographs. I have the greatest respect for all wild animals and nature in general and I am fascinated by nature photography.
How do I differ from other nature photographers?
I think in my attitude to success. For me, success is when I don't harm nature with my behaviour. I'm not interested in the world's greatest recognition, in winning photo competitions. The greatest success for me is when an animal, after I have observed and photographed it for hours, has not even realised that I was near it.
